Yes. Weather Boss is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and will not harm aquatic life, mammals, or plant life. Start by preparing the surface. Pressure wash to remove dirt, algae, mildew, and loose material. For marine structures, a minimum of 2,800 psi is recommended. Allow the wood to dry before application. Weather Boss can be applied to wood that is slightly damp, but the surface should not be wet or holding standing water.
Apply by brush, roller, or sprayer. For docks and walkways, spraying followed by back-brushing provides efficient coverage across large, flat areas. For pilings, posts, and vertical surfaces, a brush typically works best. Stir the product thoroughly before use, and restir if it sits for more than 20 minutes.
Apply two color coats, allowing about 30 minutes between coats or until the surface is nearly dry. Applying the second coat while the first is still slightly damp helps drive the stain deeper into the wood. Finish with a final coat of Weather Boss Clear Sealer for optimum protection.
Allow the finish to cure for 24 hours before rain or water exposure. Coverage averages 100 to 250 square feet per gallon depending on the porosity and condition of the wood. Heavily weathered marine wood will absorb more product, so plan for the lower end of the coverage range and keep extra on hand.

Weather Boss can be applied to wood that is slightly damp but not wet or holding standing water. For dock boards, pilings, and other structures that are regularly in contact with water, apply the product to surfaces that have had time to drain and are no longer actively wet. The formula will bond with the wood fibers even in high-moisture conditions. Once cured (allow 24 hours), the bond holds up to continuous water exposure.

Longevity depends on the level of water exposure, UV, and traffic the structure receives. Marine structures face more extreme conditions than land-based surfaces, so they may need attention sooner than a deck or fence. Apply the full three-coat system (two color coats plus a Clear Sealer coat) for maximum durability, and maintain with periodic Clear Sealer recoats as needed. Cleaning the surface before recoating is typically all the prep required.
