With 50% more resins and oils, Weather Boss XT is thicker. We recommend spraying the oil in an agricultural grade electric or pump sprayer and back brushing if necessary. All open-grained wood and coarse wood will absorb the XT quickly. The product itself is straightforward. However, roof work involves height, pitch, and safety considerations that are separate from the staining process. If you are comfortable working on a roof and have the appropriate safety equipment, you can apply XT yourself. If not, hiring a contractor for the application is a practical choice. The product performs the same either way.
